We’ve all had enough of lockdown – but thank goodness for technology

Thank god for Microsoft Office ‘Teams’. I’ve spent more than 40 hour a week on it, talking, dancing, singing, sharing photos of me when I had muscles and most importantly talking to customers and sharing spreadsheets and graphs.

I’m sure you’ve heard it many times before, human beings are social animals. I mean, being lockdown for over six months by myself has got me ripping my hair out from all sorts of places and it doesn’t end there. Just last week, my manager caught me with my shirt off, the radiators were on full blast, I was in UK and somehow it felt like I was in the Middle East!

I couldn’t do my job successfully without the help of Microsoft Teams. If you haven’t used it yet, you need to make sure you get involved. It made my life in lockdown so much easier. Believe it or not it has enhanced my productivity by using the collaborative function for sharing files, making sure my tasks are completed. It’s easy for my manager to drop in when ever he feels like by using the call function, and of course it has the capability of video calling.

My Colleague, Zaima and I have only been working at 4th Platform for two months, and I can’t tell you how much Teams has helped us stay connected with each other. It has helped us get up to scratch with how the company works and completing the training required. Keeping up to date with what’s going on with colleagues and even though we haven’t met them in person, it feels like we have.

As time has gone on and we’re now in the third lockdown, using Teams has meant our productivity hasn’t been affected at all. Microsoft Teams integrates seamlessly with Outlook, so you know where to be at any given time. We are still able to share files, meet deadlines and able to present to our clients with a shirt on.
